(no subject)

So I figured out the why behind my reluctance to send a message to my doctor.

See, this process, referral to evaluation to possible acquisition of appropriate equipment, has a chance of awesome. Of improving my life. But it also has a (higher) chance of failing. Of what I need not existing, or not being available, or not being practical and/or comfortable.

Normal logic says: try it; if it fails, you aren't any worse off.

Complete Avoidance of Failure Logic says: don't; if you haven't tried it yet then it still has the potential of working out ok.

(CAF Logic is, shall we say, a frequent visitor to my brain. Even in ridiculous situations.)
