Things of awesome
a) I went to a really really awesome concert this week: Boston Pops (yay) doing music of John Williams (yay). It was kind of incredible. I mean, there's a kind of magical quality to live music vs just hearing soundtracks.
(I hadn't realized how crazy fast the violin part is in the Harry potter theme -- all the swoopy flitty stuff, starting after the celesta intro, is violins, and I'm pretty sure it's like a bazillion notes per second.)
b) Saw _Get Out_ today, finally. Damn good movie. And it's amazing how creepy things can be in one context that would be perfectly ordinary in any other.
c) Am up to level 4 on wanikani, and still keeping my duo streak up (587). I honestly don't know how I've managed the duo thing -- especially since the last streak I had only disappeared because the app wasn't communicating with the servers, and so I should be farther along even than I am. I'm so used to either failing, giving up, or sabotaging myself, that actually succeeding is bizarre. And awesome.
