Ohh. Our tenants had a black lab—he was one of the dearest and most mischievous big animals I know. He was like an animated ottoman. One summer he was running with a stick and swept the entire BBQ right off the deck when the stick got caught... then he ATE THE BRIQUETTES. There's a sound you don't forget. A dog eating lava rock from a propane BBQ. He thought it was the best snack ever. This is the dog who once swallowed a whole pound of shaved ham—in the wrapping. He also ate the tin pan from a frozen cake as well as over a dozen hair scrunchies. I've never met a stronger dog; he could pull over 200# at a full run. Overall, so well behaved, suited to a small living space, and gentle.
