No one:

Absolutely no one:

Ravelry: let's change our look completely and also make stuff very generic!

Users: um what

Ravelry: isn't it awesome :D :D :D

Users: no. Change back.

Ravelry: no and stop being mean :(

Some users: uh this makes my eyes hurt.

Some users: and it's literally giving me migraines

Ravelry: this is the way things are now.

...I am. Um.

I am sympathetic with TPTB because any change is always met with complaint, but this is so so so bad. The best way I can describe it is a weird mashup of Craftsy (rip) and animal crossing, with way too much white space.

Mostly I just feel unsettled. I can't use the forums much any more. It was where I was getting a lot of my people contact even before covid-quarantine, and it feels sterile and unwelcoming. And aggressively girly in places. Not that girly is inherently bad, and anything cute will always have some "aw it's so cute" people and some "ew it's too cute" people and the border between aw and ew is different for everyone, but.

Yikes!

One good thing about current browsers is they provide tools (like Tampermonkey) that allow you to reskin modern sites with CSS. Given users going “noooo!” Somebody will surely create a userscript to fix the “improvement”
