Dream

CW bugs I guess?

Dream last night: there was a moth -- large, with dark patterning that I can't quite remember but was gorgeous -- that landed on my ankle. I kind of scooped it up gently to get a better look at it, and it bit down on the tip of my right ring finger. Not biting so much as latching on.

Shortly afterwards, this gauzy cocoon-like material started growing over that finger and gradually spread over my hand; eventually it would spread over the whole body. I remember looking at my hand, with a swollen cocoon around the ring finger and thinner layers wrapping around my other fingers. We could peel off the thinner layers painlessly, but the cocoon-y part didn't budge, and I knew it would just keep growing nonstop

[note: maybe parallel to FOP? or some other immobilizing and inevitable entrapment]

and by the time you were completely cocooned you were ?hallucinating? / ?dreaming? a non-real reality, completely unaware of your real surroundings. (This was a pandemic-level event, where I wasn't the only one affected.) There was a narrative 'trick' at one point where a guy was going home to his wife and kid, and the narrative switched to his wife who was trying to deal with their kid being half cocooned, and then switched back to the guy who arrived home to find the wife solidly cocooned and the kid perfectly ok.

There was also a thing where lamps could slow the progression -- can't recall if it was heat or light that was key -- but only when literally right in the glow.
