glasses!

I can has new glasses whee :D

They are a bit of an experiment because they are, well, prismy. We're trying prism lenses to shift the field of view a bit to make it easier to do craftings. (I can't move my head down or my hands up, and in normal view the place where crochet etc happens is at the bottom of the field of view. The prisms shift what I see so that it is effectively like being able to move my hands a good five or six inches higher.)

...moving is weird, looking up to where people's faces are when they are standing is weird, and everything has a sort of halo (vague physics technobabble about different wavelengths bending different amounts, and different colors being different wavelengths, and blah blah using prisms to make rainbows blah) -- it sort of reminds me of a subtler version of the effect you get looking at a 3D film without the special glasses. So I don't think it would work all that well for superfine detail work, but then again my hands aren't steady enough for that sort of thing anyway so I don't do it.

I shall have to take photos of the frame at some point -- it's super awesome, with the outside being a purple so dark it's almost black, and the inside having fun color hijinks going on.

ohh - prism glasses sound like a thing that could be most awesome - and most disconcerting at the same time.

I have had diff prisms for decades. They are so wonderful when they work! I hope they increase your functional vision in that magic way they have.
