Various dreams
I dreamed I was taking high school classes as an adult, only there were no bells so I kept being late. It was the last day of school so one teacher just did a joke quiz (I don't remember any specifics but one question included a promise to make cassowary noises if anyone got it right) only everyone had different questions so we couldn't get through all the answers. The physics teacher (whose class I realized I had missed a bunch of) pulled up a physics problem that had been printed as a puzzle in the NY Times and asked if anyone had done it; I was the only one who raised my hand, and he had me come up and explain it to the class. One of the calculations involved the specific gravity of air, and one involved deducing the length and weight of a pendulum, and there was a scale diagram, and apparently my calculations were correct. I also wandered into the staff room at one point and found my mom digging through the tray of strawberries in the fridge, which was awkward.
Yesterday I dreamed about spending an hour waiting in line at a coffee cart; when I finally got up there I asked for a "latte with hot chocolate in it", which cost $15 and change so I paid with a twenty and then added a one so the change would work better, but that seemed to break the brain of the woman behind the cart and she just stared at me like I was scamming her. I tried explaining the strategy, and then gave up and asked for my money back instead of the drink-plus-change, but that didn't work either, so I had to have her call her manager to deal with the "situation"
Day before: I dreamed about being on a plane that was close to landing, only someone had opened the door right at my row and had fallen out and was hanging by one hand. I told the person sitting by the window to grab her arm, but he couldn't haul her up, and she said it might be better to let her fall.
Also I dreamed about this big bearded Russian guy (husband of a Russian teacher at a college) that fell in love with a younger guy (a student at that college) and then they were in "the war" together (WW2?) and the older guy sheltered the younger one from missiles, and it turned into some complicated time travel love story that would make a really cool movie ...
