This entry is mainly about my LJ flist, but it's posted on DW only. This amuses me, even though I have a very good reason for it.

Okay, so, basically, I'm trying to figure out how to reduce confusion between my DW circle page (which I have not yet found a name for that works for me) and my LJ flist. So, a poll, for DW peeps (cue marshmallow noises).

The first one is about how you are posting, and basically affects how I will read your LJ journal -- I will be doing different things depending on whether the LJ account has entries or comments that the DW version doesn't have.

The second one is about how you are reading, specifically where you are getting my entries from.

(The third is because I am easily confuzzled. And the fourth is because I'm kind of dorky.)

This poll really only applies to people who are on my LiveJournal flist; if I only have contact with you through DW, feel free to ignore the poll, or just answer the last question.

I very occasionally crosspost to LJ. I read both DW and LJ but give DW my most attention and have moved anyone who posts to both so that they're just on my DW list.

I keep reserving the right to post different content to LJ and DW depending on the audience, but in practice, since I haven't been updating as frequently as I used to, content's been mostly crossposted.

I'm not on your f-list over on LJ, but to be honest? I keep my stuff on LJ for all of about 2 people and read and comment primarily over here. Most comments on my posts are over here as well.

I crosspost because most folks on my flist over there haven't moved, however what I have been doing is as folks move to DW I am defriending them on LJ so I'm only reading their posts once.

Also, ticky very definitely has a headache.

Occasionally I post stuff on LJ that I don't post here. It depends on my mood. I think that anxiety post yesterday went on LJ only. I think I tend to do that because I've had that longer and have fewer new people, so I'm a bit more comfortable. I do try and cross-post most stuff though...and then there are times that I do post stuff here that I don't bother posting on LJ. I am moody and crazy that way.

I'm sometimes posting different content, and sometimes cross-posting, but usually just not posting.

I read in both places, but plan to refine this plan one of these days. I do like how on LJ I can get direct links to people's DW comments, which I can't do in reverse. Plus, my LJ style is better for me and is perma-displayed, so I tend to default there for certain types of reading.

very occasionally post different content (specifically, when i upload things to scrapbook on lj, i'm likely to forget for a while to post them on dreamwidth too. also sometimes i just forget and write on lj, but 99.9% of the time i'm writing on dw and crossposting to lj. I get most of my comments on lj. Joshua /occasionally/ crossposts his entries to the main journal on lj, filtered, but not always, but always updates on dw. reads both, though. the kids post on their ljs and don't have dws yet.

I post no content to LJ that isn't LJ-related PSA; I now read via my DW openid. (Which is actually fairly frustrating because they won't let me uncollapse posts flagged as adult content on my flist. Which sucks. But I persevere, for lo i am strong.)

So, you know, probably I am not that relevant to this anyhow. But I figured I'd clarify. :)

I am reading on both LJ and DW, but if someone is crossposting exclusively as far as I can tell, I'm defaulting to only DW and not LJ since that cuts down on times i have to refresh things and times where I open multiple tabs and then realize they're all the same.
