I'm still bothered by my dream last night--

--wherein I came back to my apartment after a few weeks and realized I hadn't arranged animal care in my absence; the cats (3, somehow) were skinny but alive, but Yahtzee was shriveled and green/moldy and wedged oddly under the sink, and after several horrified minutes of "oh fuck I wish this were a dream" I realized he was actually still alive, so I got water for him, only a chunk of his nose/muzzle fell off... and I reied feeding him soup (wtf self) but he just barfed it back up
...I've had "oops I forgot about $animal" as a dream theme before but usually with new animals, e.g. in the dream I'd just gotten fish/snake/hamster/kittens right before leaving, so it's distressing in a generic way. This just ...
I can't shake the feeling of having fucked Y up?
