I personally think that if a) You're not enjoying it, *and* b) You don't think that anything good will come of it should you win, then it's probably not a good idea to continue.
Do remember that NaNo is meant to be something you participate in because you want to do so. Of course, most NaNo'ers are probably going to start not enjoying it in the actual month, which is why I included the second clause too. If you think that it would be worth it to get to the end, then I think you should continue. If you don't, then I'd say stop. As Peas said, 30k is already a heck of a lot.
If you do choose to stop, then the other writing project sounds like a good idea if you want to do it, I think, and would be a good way to get a bit of a spark.
So yeah, this is my answer. It kinda depends on how you feel about the whole thing, I think.
