augh *thumps head on desk*
Sep. 10th, 2010 11:00 pmAm thiiiiiiis close to finishing the shawl I'm working on.
I misestimated the halfway point of yarn, but at least I did it in the direction of having too much left over afterwards. And it's not worth frogging half a shawl just to add another inch or so in the middle.
26 rows left. And they're short, too; 18 stitches decreasing down to 2.
Except, um.
Unless I'm hallucinating? the end instructions, both chart and written, are wrong. There's an edging of alternating trellisy yarn-over holes (basically, k2 yo k2tog k1 both directions, with the previous row's yo being the last of the k2). And the end bit suddenly changes to k1 k2tog yo k2 -- basically reversing the established pattern.
Which means I either have to a) have a weird bit where the alternating yo holes don't alternate (and no, there is no corresponding switch at the beginning), or b) figure out how the heck to adapt it to work with the established pattern.
*whimpers*
I HATE being this close and not being able to finish!
(and yes, I sent the designer a ravelry PM, but she's in Florida, so is in bed, so won't get back to me until at least tomorrow, and auuuugh)
