Oct. 25th, 2010 09:48 pm... I had a longer entry written out but it got eaten by a badly managed browser restart that restored an old session. One that had a different entry-draft up, that matched what DW had saved, because I was stupid enough to have two update windows up with different contents. And I can't remember what I had written. Sigh.
So, instead, have a bullet point update.
* Am less than 100 quests away from EK loremaster \o/
* Most of what I did today, after some Upper-BRS questage, was human starting areas. Which involved, like, kobolds. And poor pathetic little Defias bandits that I could kill by looking at cross-eyed.
* I also had plenty of RGLRGLRGLRGRLGRLRGLRGLRLing at me, which used to inspire omg-run-away fear and now is just kind of ... cute. N'awww. *pets the baby murlocs, accidentally squishing a few*
* running around doing early-level quests with a full-speed mount (and ghost wolf form, with its movement bonus, when I was interacting with and/or killing stuff) has totally spoiled me; trying them on appropriate level characters would be an exercise in frustration. Luckily, Cata is coming to, er, shake things up, so to speak.
* I was sitting waiting for Goldtooth to spawn, and there was a L7 pally there too, who commented that I had to be a "really bored shaman, lol". (Not bored, just masochistic and doing Loremaster.)
* Deadmines, solo at L80, is kind of loltastic. Poor Mr. Smite didn't even get a chance to stun me and go for another weapon :(
* The sort of quest where you have to *almost*-but-not-quite kill something is a total pita when you're overleveled for it. (getting the no longer needed attunement ring for UBRS took me four tries because the distance between "damaged enough to use the quest item on" and "dead" was more than my attacks tended to be, so the silly dragon kept going and dying before I could do what I needed to do. at least he was a fairly quick respawn...)
* This required what was basically the maximum WoW I can do in a day -- possibly even more than I should have. If I am able to progress at the same rate of quests per playing time, which is unlikely since these were so nicely grouped (I have redridge mountains and half of stranglethorn vale, but the rest will be scattered), I could get EK loremaster in another day or two, except that I don't have any days left in October that are this empty. And November has NaNo, so I don't know. EK loremaster before Cata is plausible. Kalimdor I'm not so sure about.
