on rewatching Cinderella

I'd forgotten how painfully duck-footed Lucifer the cat is

ok so clearly cinderella is an enchantress -- that explains the animals

(and explains the prince falling instantly in love on sight)

(like maybe this is my acd nature showing but while I understand that allos can get immediate physical attraction, but love and long-term relationships need more)

fairy godmother is odd. I thought the pumpkin and mice were "make do with what's here" but no she's literally "First I need a pumpkin"

(I guess her magic is an alternate explanation? She's so incompetent-vibed though.)

(plot bunny: cinderella is like "it's so weird how he obsessed over me" and FG is like "oh there's an attraction spell on the dress" and C gets upset because she just wanted to blend in with the crowd and also the prince doesn't genuinely love her)

why is the ball just people standing around ... why is there no dancing ...

WHY DO THE MICE HAVE FORKS

...I wonder if the palace staff will be okay with her friends ...

also why does everything revert BUT the slippers

(this is one reason I can't write any more: I get hung up on little details that need tweaking / explanation and can't just say "oh fuck it")
