Mine also had the waiting period of "not fixed yet" when we adopted them. I am not sure the pound fixes them until an adopter commits--like, why waste the resources if they don't get adopted and have to be put down or something farmed out to HALO, who takes on animals at the end of their time limit at the pound in AZ, and who might pay for the fixing instead? (Though bless, mine were a boy and a girl caged together, it seems like 'not making kittens!' might have been a thought?)
