And watching it made me realize that, while I sing along to this, I do not sing one part consistently. I switch back and forth. But I do *that* consistently, in the same places each time.
What I actually end up singing is kind of this, marked with whose line it is for those of you that don't have it memorized:
[V] Believe of me what you will
[V] There is a duty that I've sworn to do
[J] No -- 24601
[J] My duty's to the law
[J] You have no rights
[J] Come with me, 24601
[V] But not before I see this justice done
[J] Dare you talk to me of crime
[J] and the price you had to pay
[V] there is power in me yet
[V] my race is not yet run
[J] You know nothing of Javert
[V] There is nothing I won't dare
[V] If I have to kill you here
[J] I am from the gutter too
It makes a poetic sort of sense, almost. *snicker*
(Mostly, I think, it's based on which part is higher or stronger. And I'm always alone, so it doesn't matter that I'm partjumping. Except that even if I make a conscious effort to sing only one part all the way through ... I totally can't. :x)
