fun with body parts
Mar. 3rd, 2010 06:04 pmso I seem to have a UTI.
it manifested this morning -- or, rather, last night, with my body going "hi I am going to pee without waking up." which I did not discover until this morning. but today, I'm getting the whole nine yards. pain, burning, odor, retention problems, all of the really fun stuff.
went to the doctor, who as usual was a bit frustrated at the fact that it is pretty much impossible to get a urine sample. (even the catheter option /does not work/ -- when I sorta-broke my foot I eventually went in and begged for a temp catheter because standing for the toilet was too painful, and they used the smallest thinnest babyest catheter ever and could not get it in.) plus, getting antibiotics is superfun when one is allergic to the penicillin family.
... but, I am home, with a three-day supply of cipro (all they had in stock, with the option of a refill), a very cranky UT, and an extreme thankfulness for adultdiapers disposable padded briefs. (which are embarrassing as shit to wear, but, you know... beats changing pants every few hours.)
I actually suspect in retrospect that the huge funk I was in on Monday? probably related. Just because I didn't have [standard UTI] symptoms doesn't mean my body wasn't going "omg getitoff getitoff getitoff *flail*".
