ysobel: (coffee)

Alas, I do not have any wacky anecdotes about Princess Cluelesspants of WTF to share today ... mainly because she doesn't work weekends and so I don't have to deal with her today. \o/ Amazingly, I am much more well-rested, and much perkier, and I do not think the timing is a coincidence.

...okay, it probably also isn't a coincidence that today was Farmer's Market and I now am the proud, if temporary, owner of some very sexy lettuce, some gorgeous tomatoes, an absolutely nummy loaf of challah, and more desserty stuff than I probably should have gotten but oh well. (There was a coffee stand, and a bakery next to it. I was in line for coffee. The bakery people, sneakily, were giving out samples of their chocolate torte. I tasted it and went "homg must get" and so, when I was out of the coffee line, went over to the table with the intent of bringing back a chocolate torte thingie. I kind of got distracted. "Okay, three questions," I said to the guy. "What's that?" pointing to a pumpkin-colored thingummy with a swirl of cream cheese type frosting on top. He told me. (It was pumpkin-carrot, but otherwise to expectations.) "Shit," I said, knowing I would have to get one. "Okay, what's that?" pointing to some other sort of thingie. He told me. (It was a key lime somethingorother.) "Shit," I said, for the same reason. "And the thing you were giving samples of?" He pointed to it. "Okay," I said, giving in to the inevitable, "I'll take one of each." (It's not as bad when I have roommates to share it with.) The key lime thingum was packaged separately, and then he had a box for the pumpkin carrot thing and the chocolate thing, and he threw in I have nfi what it was but probably evil and delicious, because "we can't have the box be unbalanced," and I was grinning like an idiot but I didn't really care, and I have all this yummy stuff and omg.

*pauses to breathe*

Also, I had coffee. But it's not really noticeable... *pretends leg isn't jittering* *innocent face*

Anyway, I was, on the way back, thinking about knitting dischloth / washcloth / somethingcloth thingies with fannish themes. I mean, I've seen several doctor who designs (a Blink one, a tardis, a dalek, there are probably others), and I'm sure there are star trek designs, and I could do a series of Stargate ones based on gate addresses, and and and. And I'm sitting here going "okay, you do not need more washcloths, really you don't", but that led me to the epically perky and wildly optimistic point of "hey, you could sell them on etsy or something".

This, combined with the fact that I want to start doing wire wrapping just for fun (painful fun, I don't know what the attraction is, but it's there), ditto for selling it on etsy-or-whatever because there's no real way that I could use a bunch of wire wrapped stuff, and it's all impractical as hell and my work isn't professional-looking enough for anyone to want to buy it and the practical pessimistic part of me is going "... thwap" because of this, and the six year old lemonade stand owner part of me is going "but it miiiiight work" and I have too many voices in my head.

(I also have not written this week's brigits flame entry. Speaking of voices in my head. Ahem.)

So, a quick random poll:

Also, unrelatedly, [personal profile] jmtorres has plotbunnied me with serial-killer!Winchesters. (well, seriously amoral Winchesters. The sort that still fight monsters and things-that-go-bump, but really don't care about saving people, and, depending on how dark the whirly kaleidoscope of amoral!Winchesters in my head is, actively kill play with the victims they rescued, under the theory that they were going to be dead anyway). It is in the fun squishy play-doh stage of storymaking right now where I'm just having fun poking and squoozing and seeing what happens.
