ysobelI queue as healer for a random heroic dungeon. This means that my primary focus is, you know, healing people. But in some cases, "healing people" basically is the equivalent of "standing around doing nothing most of the time", so when I am bored with the not healing I am doing, I throw in offensive spells. Chain Lightning if the tank's doing okay with holding aggro, lightning bolt or one of the shocks otherwise.
Groups are made up of one healer (who heals), one tank (who gets bashed on), and three dps (damage-dealers who try not to get bashed on). One of our dps is a priest, specced as shadow. Spriests are decent damage dealers, right?
I have 250k total damage, 422 dps. Which is the bottom of the dps chart, but dude, healer, not damage-dealer.
The spriest? (Who, as far as I noticed, only ever cast mind flay.) Had all of 463k total damage, 899 dps.
........yeah.
