Quick summary: I leveled my shaman as enh (dual wield! stormstrike! wolveses!), with resto as my other spec. Until Cata came out, I was doing both raiding and happy pug heroics as a healer (resto), but right now I am exceedingly leery of healing even a *normal* instance; TotT last night scarred me for life for healing heroics, and that was entirely with guildies, no pugs at all. And not at raiding level yet.

So I am verymuch not healing anything Cata-related, except for guild-run normals. This is partly a gear issue (I am only barely over the ilvl threshold for heroics, not to mention I somehow had my healing gloves disappear for no apparent reason) and partly an omg-pugs-suck issue and partly I don't even know what.

But I did run a random (with three other guildies and a pug) as dps and -- hoo boy. My dps level? Sucks. (To the tune of 4k, when the other two dpsers were doing more than twice that.)

I don't know how much of that is gear, how much is enh in general, how much is the way I play (and the fact that I use enh for solo stuff so have self-heal in as an automatic part of my rotation when I could more effectively do a lightning bolt), how much is running around trying to stay in melee range, whatever. But. It's not good.

So I was thinking of changing to ele for a while. I know it doesn't get rid of the "lugging around 2 armor sets" thing, because ele wants mastery and hit, which resto doesn't care about, but I *can* ele in resto gear a lot better than I can enh in resto gear.

But for some reason, possibly because I have always been enh, the prospect terrifies me. I don't know what I'm doing and it scares me. Flaaaaiiiiiiiiiiil.

(Also, I don't have enough bank+bag space for three sets of gear omg)
