I love having a common language.
Nov. 10th, 2009 10:27 pmOne of my performing groups has a major performance coming up (Nov 22! any of y'all that are in driving distance of Sacramento, and like eastern-european folk music, let me know and I can give information so you can come). Tonight, the second-to-last rehearsal, we were running the full concert, including song introductions.
One of the people steps forward. "The next three songs are about love." She paused, just long enough, before adding, "Twu wuv."
Someone else in the group murmured something about "bwings us togevah today."
I idly commented, "that dweam wiffin a dweam..."
We, er, had to get back on track after that. But it was a fun diversion.
(Every time someone asks me what I do, my answer varies, from describing volunteer stuff to explaining that I don't/can't have a job, but what I *hear* every time, in my head, is "unemployed!!?? in GREENLAND!!?!?!".)
