Sock knitting ponderances

I am trying to figure out whether I want to do Althea on the loom or on normal needles.

For the most part, up to the cuff, the stitches are purl and ktbl. Which are fairly easy on looms. OTOH, I haven't found or figured out the equivalent of magic cast on, so I'd have to do the short row toe thing, which I dislike. Plus I wouldn't be able to try them on as I go. But the loom is portabler than long dpns, and it's a pattern that /could/ work on the loom, and ... argh. IDK. *flail*

(And yes, I know I shouldn't be casting on until I finish the Argante, but. Flailing is fun!)

iconses

I got bored and made iconses. One for NaNo (repurposed from a 2008 icon), two cute critters, and a handful of white collar. As with anything I make I'm not sure yet what I think of the icons, so most of the WC uploads will wait until I figure out which ones I like, but they are all free for the taking.
