techie twitchnesses
Oct. 16th, 2012 06:54 pmSo, okay, my external HD (on which I stored a fair amount of my music, as well as being a place to back up to) has not been wanting to turn on for a while. My dad brought over a replacement, at least for the backup part -- I will have to re-figure out how to reclaim music off my iPod, but whatever.
Computer doesn't want to see it. So I reboot.
Computer says "lol um your disc quality sucks". Does one of those long things of checking corruption levels or whatnot. There are corrupted index files and orphaned files and general oh-no-ness. Fine.
Computer finally boots up. I go to pull up chrome.
...and either the image file is b0rked or chrome is not built to run on Windows.
After a tad bit of gigglefit over the concept of Google going "lol windows whats that", I pull up Firefox so I can download chrome.
...and either the image file is b0rked or firefox is not built to run on windows.
...
k so I go into IE, which has the up side of working (but the down side of being IE). DL and reinstall chrome and firefox. All good.
I then go to pull up mIRC.
... ...I half expect it not to work. It does, /but/ it's lost my server list.
*sob*
