More dreams
Mar. 24th, 2023 10:20 pmFrom last night:
There was a LJ support request about... something, and also what a German word meant;
pauamma beat me to the main answer, but I added in a comment auf deutsch about the English translation of the German word (which I think was "wenn"). Also a DW support request about how to access the site from prison, and rah had written up a FAQ for that a few weeks ago.
There was a Minecraft dream where I wanted to build a small but deep pool of water surrounded by stone and then fly straight up as high as possible and then turn off flight so I would splash precisely in the center of the water. I think I was trying to prove something but can't remember what. I carefully put torches all around, just in case night fell, but the dream changed before the experiment finished.
There was a choir trip that involved us practicing a piece where the soprano part went from A above high C [*] to C an octave below middle C [**] within three bars. It also involved fighting off snakes, though I don't think they were venomous [***]. The streets home were blocked off by a protest about indigenous territory use so we had to detour significantly.
[*] This is very high. The Queen of the Night aria from Magic Flute goes to F above high C, but most sopranos don't; A is even higher. Personally I can hit D if I'm warmed up, and sometimes can get to F if I'm hella warmed up and you don't care about tone, but A is out of the question.
[**] This is very low, at least for sopranos and possibly a good number of first altos. I bottom out at G below C. I suspect there are very few people who can do both QotN range and tenor range, especially if you want it to sound good.
[***] The snakes, that is. I'm not sure about the piece we were practicing.[^]
[^] Sorry, I've been binging Discworld. Footnotes are contagious. [^^]
[^^] See?
