Basically, I want to rename her, because her current name is a bit too ... glurgey? ... for my tastes. I have a shortlist, and I'm waiting to see what fits her best (and for some reason I keep calling her Sunshine; wtf, self?), but I figured you guys might have some possibilities I could consider. :D

Date: 2011-02-27 11:58 am (UTC)My family's always had a useful guideline, namely that any possible name should be one that you'd be happy to shout repeatedly at the top of your voice in a public place.
But ultimately, you don't get the final say. You can try out various possibilities, but it's down to the cat whether they stick or fit or whether the cat will insist on answering to something completely different. *g*

Date: 2011-02-27 02:59 pm (UTC)With Jude, as you might recall, he was nameless for four days after I got him and I couldn't make a vet appointment for him because I couldn't figure out what his name was. And as much as I call him "Ezio" and "assassin!cat" (when he's stalking my feet) and "what the fuck, dude?", Jude is actually his name. (Although he gets called Judy nine times out of ten.) And yeah, the name came out of my own tastes and love of puns (I adore that I get to come home and say, "Hey Jude!" every day) but it stuck because it fit him. So yeah, go through names that are associated with something that makes you happy, throw them at her, and see what sticks.
My only other point of advice would be name her something the vets' assistants can pronounce. LOL Which is why Jude didn't get named Llewellyn.
