So I sort of have been attacked with a X-Men First Class bunny.

(No, it's not Charles/Erik, no matter how ... magnetic ... they are together.)

...it seems somehow ... I'm not sure what word it is I'm looking for; sacriligious? irreverent? wrong, anyway ... to write a fic when I don't know most of the canon. And yes, I do realize that full X-Men canon is a) impossibly huge, b) self-contradictory and retconned all over the place, and c) not entirely relevant for the movieverse. But that doesn't stop me from fretting.

(It's Angel/Raven, if anyone is wondering.)

Aw, don't fret! Movieverse is a whole different universe. I think that's one of the things I love most about it -- you have full freedom to work within that and only that. And, hell, throw out some of it if it doesn't work (like the TIMELINE, omg).

I say it's fine just so long as you're careful not to pair off any characters who are actually related to each other in comic-canon. Which is actually surprisingly easy to do.

I've only seen the movies (I hate comics/graphic novels) and I've read lots of movieverse fic and yeah basically writers seem to treat it like a very separate AU. It's more like watching Stargate: Atlantis and then writing SGA fic without having watched SG1 I think - you're not actually missing canon, you have less backstory to refer to but it doesn't really matter that much.

And I'd love to read it :)
