because who doesn't like presents?
Oct. 29th, 2012 06:57 pmIt is getting to be that time of year: my birthday, various holidays, wishlist meme time, end of year flailings, etc. And, okay, the wishlist meme hasn't started yet, but I am going to post mine anyway.
Some of this, including the numbering scheme, is cribbed from previous years. (Though hey, I don't have to ask for a service dog any more! \o/) There is no particular order to this list. I'm not going to copy the 'rules' (because I'm lazy), but to sum up, these are wishes and none of you are obligated in any way to fulfill any of them but if you do I would be thrilled.
General reminder: If anyone is interested in sending me snail mail, my address is here (DW) / here (LJ). Both posts are friends-locked; if you want my address and can't see the post, shoot me a private message. I welcome any sort of mail - postcards, holiday cards, non-holiday cards, letters, cookies, yarn, whatever.

A list of things I want, by Isabeau, age almost-thirty-*mumble*.
1) Donations to IFOPA. FOP (aka Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva, the medical condition I have) has redefined "rare" for me -- there are less than a thousand people worldwide who have it. It doesn't get a lot of press the way heart disease and lung cancer and breast cancer do, but the research these people are doing is really important to me.
If you would like to donate in my name (it would still be credited to you, but listed as an "In Honor Of ___" instead of a general donation), please use my real name (see address above) rather than isa/ysa.
B) Donations of time or money to a local charity, particularly ones relating to animal rescue/care/adoption or domestic violence.
III) Remixing of -- or (for the more artistically inclined) illustrations for -- any of my stories. (Art can also apply to OCs; poke me and I can babble.)
fork) Yarn, because I apparently cannot have enough despite having too much, or something. *grin* Right now I am in a worsted-weight-or-thicker kick.
5) e-books of awesomeness
F) An ittle bitty non-touchscreeny laptop, for portable writing.
VII) Candles, of pretty much any variety (I usually go for votive size, but anything's fine)
knife) Fic / art / icons / etc. about Women Being Awesome, in any of my fandoms. (Or, well, any other fandom, because fandom, and the world, could use more WBAness in general.)
9) Anything off my ThinkGeek wishlist, or gift certificate(s) to places such as Amazon, Thinkgeek, iTunes, Audible, or knitting-related sites
J) A transporter, so I can visit all the awesome people I know out there. <3 (Or, conversely, if you happen to end up in visiting distance of where I live, and don't mind doing an extra side trip to swing by and say hi, that would work too.)
