Sep. 23rd, 2015 02:37 amA brief rant, brought to you in part by prednisone giving me crappy sleep and lots of babbliness:
My Facebook feed is full of these “peanuts-ize yourself” avatar maker thing (promotion for the new Peanuts movie). I am (un?)reasonably cranky that there is no inclusivity of disabilities -- no wheelchair option, no crutches, no white cane, no hearing aid. I can make a peanuts style character that sort of shares my face in a basic sense but it is not me.
(Though I do have to give it props for, as far as I can recall, not enforcing gender. I don't remember being asked to choose boy vs girl and being therefore limited in hairstyles or clothing choices. I don't know if if was done deliberately, or just a result of the fact that there was only one body type anyway, but it's still nice. never mind, if you pick start fresh rather than just editing the character given, it does do boy-or-girl. And there are different options for hair and clothing and stuff. Ah well.)
