Dream // cw
Dec. 12th, 2021 05:34 pmLast night's dream comes with a cw: body horror, insects.
You have been warned.
We (vague definition; I'm not sure who all was there but I was with a group) were at a restaurant when I started getting itchy. There were bugs of two sorts. One was a thin green beetle. The other looked like a ladybug 🐞 but really really wasn't.
Both of them burrowed under the skin. The green one just laid eggs. The red one would move around under the surface, and also laid eggs, and you had to move it around with your fingers and get it close to the surface and then squeeze like a pimple to get it out intact. You then had a couple seconds to swat at it before it reabsorbed or flew away. If you were lucky it just died, but sometimes it would explode into a bunch of eggs that absorbed into whatever surface they landed on (including skin).
None of this left wounds/openings or even scars; the skin just shlurped around the bug or eggs.
The eggs hatched fast, like within an hour, so ... basically everybody was fucked.
We went home (as I was trying to dig the bugs out of myself and then I didn't even close the door behind me, just ran to the bathroom for better lighting. A few minutes later realized the security issue and went to the front room. There were two women there, not holding anything but I said "give it back" anyway, and one of them did but said kind of insolently that I'd never know if they took anything else.
Oddly it didn't occur to me to inflict bugs on them...
