i hear the voices when I'm dreaming

First off: I think I mentioned that the first three levels are free, and then if you want more you have to subscribe. But a) they explicitly recommend not subscribing immediately (unless you super want to), and b) when I went to the sub page a few days ago, since I'm mid level 3 and figured I should sign up, there was a message on the page basically saying "we love that you're looking for ways to pay us, but we notice you're not done with level three yet, why not wait a bit more to take full advantage of the free trial?" Which is kind of adorable, especially contrasted with the <:marquee><blink>GIVE MONEYS NOW</marquee></blink> flashing pop up obnoxiousness that some sites seem to go for.

But also omg.

So when you hit level 3, you can fill out a form to get some free wanikani stickers. And I figured, sure, why not.

I totally did not expect them to come with a handwritten, personalized postcard congratulating me on getting to/through "レベル 三"

...which took me a moment to decipher (unlike the こんにちわ at the beginning) because I was in hiragana mode, and couldn't figure out what word started with shibe or what the third letter was since it wasn't quite い. But then I realized it was katakana. Reberu. Level. Level three.

And I mean, I've been doing duolingo for years (575 current streak), but do they send me personalized handwritten postcards? Noooooo.
