[17:39] <ysobel> there is no way to jump to a particular letter, if sorting by subject or sender
[17:39] <ysobel> *and* if you take action on a message? it resets you back to page 1 of the default sort (by date)
[17:39] <ysobel> you can mass-delete what's on the page (which takes several steps). there are 30 shown at a time.

...I rescued several DW comments and notifications that had fallen into the spam black hole that my email provider uses, and one random LJ one. (There was no rhyme or reason to them.) I also whitelisted DW and LJ.
I do not have the patience to sift through probably 200-odd pages of spam to try to find exceptions.
If you have emailed me and not gotten a reply, chances are good it got lost in the stupid fuckery of the spam proxy. Plz to resend or poke me about it or something.
