ysobelSo, with the new patch, there's a bug where clicking on portals or similar will freeze you up for a minute. Turns out it's somehow related to the cogwheel icon that the mouse changes to in those situations. In some cases, the freezing up can be triggered by just mousing over the whatever, not even necessarily clicking on it.
...the current holiday daily involves a pumpkin that you use to summon the headless horseman.
Guess what icon your mouse changes to in that situation.
Guess where characters face when they zone in.
Guess whether or not it's a "mouseover is enough to kill you".
Yeahhhhhhh.
(There is, btw, a macro that helps for this -- apparently, disabling tooltips works for whatever reason. So this macro will turn them off:
And this will turn them back on:
If you disable the tooltips before your mouse gets anywhere near something that might trigger the cogwheel bug of doom, you will not freeze up. Also, you will not have tooltips, so turning them back on after is a good thing.)
...
Plus, they've removed profession specializations (e.g. there's just leatherworking now; you can't specialize into elemental or tribal or dragonscale leatherworking) but they sort of forgot to remove the requirements from some of the items. So my druid has pants that do not work because they require elemental leatherworking which she no longer has.
Argh etc.
ETA: sekrit message to people on Feathermoon (alliance side): I have a bunch of hallowed wands from last year -- leper gnome, wisp, leper gnome again, wisp again, bat, yet another leper gnome, ninja, skeleton, more bats and skeletons -- so if you need anything for achievement purposes, let me know
