I had a school dream last night. First in a while.
It wasn't one I'd had before, but it was a variant on the totally-unprepared sort of thing. Showed up for class (that I knew I was taking), and everyone there had their (take-home) midterm ready to turn in, and were talking about the essay due tomorrow, and I had that ohshit moment because I thought I had more time on both. Plus, I realized that I had been treating the questions as yes/no ("do any of these answers apply") rather than multiselect ("which of these answers apply") so I couldn't even run back and try to get it and get back before class.
So I talked to the prof, being awesomely calm and reasonable in trying to persuade him to give me an extension. To which he was pretty much haha no you brought this on yourself. And eventially I kind of snapped a bit and went ... don't remember, but it was along the lines of "so basically you're saying I'm fucked," and he gave me this look and pointed out that he knew my name (and, er, therefore getting cranky was hurting my chances) and I ... didn't know what to do, because I was desperate to do well in the class and desperate to look competent and I had fucked it up and he wasn't giving me any opportunity to fix the mistake.
At some point there was a ... I don't know, dean, or something? anyway a female supervisory figure came in and intervened for me; I don't know what she said to him but he came out and grudgingly gave me a second chance but in addition to the test questions as they were I had to do an explanatory paragraph with every answer (including, according to my dream mind, my name, which I put down as Isabeau before correcting to my RL name and then stared at trying to figure out what sort of explanatory paragraph I could even use for that).
Sigh.
I hate that sort of dream, and don't particularly like remembering it either.

Also, unrelatedly, I'm glad the weather finally figured out it's October, but couldn't it have done so with the nice sunny sort of fall weather -- 70s and sunny, approximately suited for light long sleeves -- rather than cold (well, California cold) and raining like fuck? And raining (lots and lots of cold rain) on a day when I have to go outside? *and* have no clean pants so am stuck with a skirt?
Grrrr.
