... well, okay, they were fully grown dogs, but still.
Went to the local Farmer's Market, as I often do on Saturdays, at least when the weather's good; and the place that sells dog biscuits, to benefit (I think it is) veterinary services for the homeless, also had dogs. Ones that had, apparently, been kept in a crate for the first year and a half of their life, so they were being socialized.
One of them looked like a boxer/whippet cross; at any rate, it definitely had a greyhoundish body shape (and the short fine coat and the long thin tail) but the head was more blunt. The other looked more like a golden retriever/spaniel of some sort, with a somewhat longer, loosely curly coat and feathering on the tail and upper part of the legs and a retrievery head shape. The combinations would be less puzzling except for the fact that the two were siblings from the same litter (and apparently the sister, also of the same litter, looked completely different from either one).
Both of them were very sweet, a little uncertain, rather quiet, and loved being petted.
... I am kind of glad I can't randomly adopt animals :x
