evolution of this post in my head:

at 4:30 yesterday afternoon, it was going to be about how adrenaline sucks and is totally useless, especially for someone in a wheelchair, as all it does is make one shaky after-the-fact

by the time I got home, 7ish, the nasty effects were more or less gone, so the post stagnated

at 8ish, things had sort of started to ache, so it was going to be about how maybe adrenaline doesn't suck that much after all

at 9:30ish, in bed, I was reciting to myself a list of the individual pain points (seven: both ankles, both shins, both knees, and right hip), as well as drowsily composing an ode to vicodin

at 5am, also in bed, the post -- if I had been able to write it -- would have mainly consisted of "ow ow fucking ow *whimper*".

... well, it's basically that still, only a tiny bit more coherent.

So it turns out that going full-speed off a (somewhat highish) curb is not the best idea in the world.

It could have been worse. It was frontal, not sideways. I didn't tip over -- even though I thought for half a second I was going to, which led to instinctive bracing with my legs against the ground, which led to body parts getting scrunched in new and exciting ways.

... it also could have been better, but oh well.

My right knee is holding a grudge, with extreme prejudice, which is a little odd given that nothing hurt for the first four hours (and the knee was one of the last things to start hurting). It won't bear weight at all, the muscles around it keep spasming, and even after painkillers it's probably a 6 on a 1-10 pain scale.

Sigh.
