Feb. 22nd, 2010 06:48 pmI'm on the Knitpicks snail-mail list, which means I get their catalog. And usually I look through it and go "hm, that's kinda pretty" or "meh" or whatever, and then toss it. Well, recycle, but regardless, I don't actually use it as Something To Buy From.
This month, though?
They had this, which made me sit up and whimper -- I want, so much, if even only for the kiwi and the orange -- and then I noticed the price, which, just, dude. If I'm reading it right, $30 for the patterns yarn and other supplies? Yes /please/.
This is when I wish I had a job. With, you know, actual income.
Then there were the socks. Iris socks and ivy socks and stripey socks.
(And, in looking for the online versions to show IRC peoples, I ran across this hat, which is just so much yes.)
$30 for the veggie kit. $12 for the book that the sock patterns are in, since it's 40% off. I probably could manage stash yarn for the socks, except for the iris ones (I have blue-purple variegated but neither color straight) which would be $11. $53, and therefore free shipping, or $42 with $4 shipping if I skip the yarn; this is not a lot of money, but it is more money than I really have to spend.
*makes whimpery noises*
