Duolinguo fun
Jan. 8th, 2014 05:01 pmThe "flirting" bonus unit contains gems like "¿Te dolió cuando te caíste del cielo?" (did it hurt when you fell from heaven) and "¿Te perdiste? El cielo está muy lejos de aquí." (are you lost? Heaven is far from here)
...I think I cracked a rib laughing.
And in comments on the unit, we get this awesomeness (funnier if you've used Duo):
> > > Obviously no woman anywhere has ever found "Did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?" to be an effective line. I'm just curious...what sorts of things do Spanish speakers say when they're really flirting?
> > Just look straight in her eyes and say what duo's taught you: "El caballo come el arroz."
> And if she answers, "la tortuga bebe leche," it's on.
Mi aerodeslizador es lleno de anguilas.

The other bonus units are relevanter, fwiw: there was one for Christmas words, and one for idioms. But the flirting one ... needs serious help.
