Mar. 12th, 2023 04:36 pmI'm reading a book on how to say no (without feeling guilty) and some of the stuff just doesn't sit right. Like a statement that you don't have to accept someone saying no (true in some circumstances but not others). Or an example conversation where someone got meat from the grocery store but then couldn't find it, so went back to the store, and one of the customer service person's questions -- Did you look in your car to see if they fell out of the bag? -- gets characterized as implying "Ignorance and guilt induction: you have to be checked up on and are not responsible." Like... it's just basic troubleshooting? *confused look*
