Um. We just rewatched Mayhem, and, er, my muse came up for a bite or two. Morgan+Garcia, post-ep.

He swings by, after everything's over, to check on her; and she's pulled herself together (mostly) but the sight of him, and the concern on his face (concern for /her/, when she was never in any danger; it was all them, always them, and she worries when any of her family goes out and hates it when any of them get even injured, but he could have /died/ and he's /here/ worried about /her/?) sends her into tears again.
She isn't quite sure whether she's trying to hug him or cry on his shoulders or /beat him up/, but he gathers her in his arms and holds her steady and says, "shh, baby girl, it's all right now."
Once her breathing steadies again, she pulls awayu and shoves her glasses up on her nose and glares at him. "It is /not/ all right. You are an /idiot/ and I hate you and why do you always have to be the hero?"
"Because I can," he said.
"That is not a good enough reason," and she's glad that her voice isn't wobbling. "Plenty of people can and don't. Why can't you--"

But he can't not, any more than she could stop caring.
