...well, sort of.

She seems perfectly content to semi-doze in the carrier. (And perfectly content to ignore ribbons and other fun things.)
It's ... kind of what I was expecting, and kind of encouraging because she's not totally flipping out, and kind of disappointing because she didn't immediately go "yay lap! let me jump up and doze and purr" even though I wasn't seriously expecting that. All things considered I'd rather have a calm uneventful homecoming than an Exciting one, but. idk.
I was hoping to get a better picture of her. Maybe later.
(apparently the foster mom had her for something like two years. I can kind of understand that -- mellow cats are less adoptable than "HI I AM CUTE KITTY LOOK I PURR AT YOU TAKE ME HOME PLZ" cats, and although I didn't know this before recently, black cats are less adoptable than others -- but still, I felt a little guilty on behalf of the foster mom, who's had this long to bond with her, and the cat, who's had the same home for a while and I don't think has realized yet that she's been moved. But then again, this gives the foster mom (who pointed this out) the chance to save some other kitty from a euthanizing shelter, so it's all good in the long run.)
(I am still both excited and terrified and flaily)

Date: 2011-02-26 11:16 pm (UTC)My understanding with black cats and adoptability was more that there were safety concerns about adopting them out, rather than less of a demand for them. I'm glad she has found a good home with you! (And now her foster mom has am opportunity to take care of another foster.)

And that this policy was not at all unusual. Ahem. Sometimes I really hate humanity.
