Dawww. Usually they want something like food or pettings but uh. I can see how you can't just get up and get some food or be like "and off my face we're done now" either. Has she shown interest in hand pettings? If you can move your hand enough that she notices she might be willing to go play headbump over there for the rewards of scritches and leave off your face a bit.
I lifted my hand as much as possible and wiggled the fingers at her. She looked over and then went back to facelicking.
...yeah.
(She hasn't really gotten in hand area so while I think she has grokked that I can't reach out for her, I don't know that she realizes yet that pettings are possible if she positions herself right.)
Maybe get a roomie to position her in range of The Hand to educate her on the glories of petting? At not-4-in-the-morning and hope the lesson sticks for next time.
