on names (and other things)

I've been pondering, recently, whether or not to change my name. Really, because there are two issues -- site username and what people call me -- I have the following options:

* stay as isabeau
* change use-name but keep username
* keep use-name of isabeau/isa but have a different username
* change both username and use-name

Option one is of course the easiest, but I'm a little dissatisfied. Option two is unlikely.

If I just change username, but have 'Isabeau' as my displayed name (and fan name), the options I like are ysobel, gracehunter, mixednuts, and ewokangel.

(Story behind the last: at one point I was EvilAngel on IRC -- don't ask why *G* -- and used EA as a shorthand. At one point, I was EA|work ... which one person accidentally misread as Ewok. And so going to EwokAngel was the obvious-at-the-time next step)

If I change both, there is the possibility of keeping use=username, which includes the above (though least likely with mixednuts), but also Aurora, Shiara, Jerusha, Keturah, Maachah, Tabitha.

DW seems like a good place to implement the change, since it's a fresh start in some respects. Given the possibility of futurely upgrading OpenID to normal accounts, I could rename the isabeau openID account to isabeau and then this to whatever. But I have to *decide*. whiiiine.

You sound like me, I too can never decide on stuff like this!! I have been known on LJ as ladyvox for years and years (since 2001), but have been pondering about what username to choose once I can open myself a DW account. To remain known under ladyvox, or to make a fresh start with a new name.. or.. not. /giggles
I see in your profile you are a gaming girl as well, so am I! I bet you keep running in to naming ponderings and inability to decide there as well? ;-) I know I do!
