more GW2 thinky thoughts

* hi there is crafting. ♥_♥ I have no idea why I love it so much, but I dooo. Except that you can apparently only have two at a time? (switching does not seem to lose progress, but you do have to pay to switch back.)
* speaking of which, not having the right tools to harvest *blueberries* is right up there with failing to pick a flower at low herbalism levels. Especially since I didn't find it particularly obvious where to get the tools from. I did find it on one char (hehe charr ... hi I'm six) but have no idea what distinguished that particular Merchant from other Merchants.
* The standing-still animation makes my characters look drunk, idek. It's not a problem unique to GW2 (see also the one cutscene in vanilla-GW Thunderhead Keep where King Dwarfbutt looks like he's singing 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat') -- it kind of comes down to having a dynamic image rather than a static one, but in ways that reside a bit too much in the uncanny valley. It doesn't bug me with the charr, but my human character...
* speaking of humans, is it just me or do the (female) faces all look like children? D:
* and a lot of the customization options are very fiddly (iris size?) and kind of remind me of Poser :xxxx
* but I am vastly in love with getting to choose personality stuff as part of character creation, even though I don't know how much impact it has on the story
* and the dye system is awesome
* ambivalent about the cinematics, but they're growing on me more and more. Gorgeous artwork.
* so much love for not having enemies 'tagged' by who hits them first; it allows a lot more helpiness.
* and you can do skills / spells *while moving* omg <3
* except I haven't found a way to cancel an attack that was started against the wrong thing accidentally
* References to original GW make me glee way too much.
* Not having defined group roles = so freaking awesome, for solo play as well as group play
* haven't done much group play, so I don't really grok yet the synergy between different professions
* (but from a "I like to solo play most of the time, unless I'm with friends" perspective, it's great, because ... well, it is)
* am kind of in love with the skill-unlocking mechanic, *and* the fact that different weapons have different skill "trees".
* ... ahahahaha omg bottle of rum makes you "invulnerable" for three seconds :D
* and speaking of interactive objects, there is not the same sort of artifical constraint on resources that, say, WoW has. (The sort of "kill 10 X" when everyone else is fighting and therefore tagging those X, or "collect 5 Y" when other people collect them and therefore make them disappear from the world.)
* Resurrection is ... interesting ... but it kind of annoys me a little thatrezzing rallying at shrines waypoints now costs money.
* have dabbled with thief, ranger, ele, and necro. All fun!

Complaints aside ... the more I play, the more I love this game. *cuddles it*
