I am insane.
Oct. 9th, 2013 08:34 pmSo I ... sort of want a legendary.
(These are weapons in GW2 that are nifty but insanely expensive. They're listed on the trading post at anywhere from 1300 gold (Kraitkin) to 4100 (Eternity) -- and to put that in perspective, the max gold I have ever had in my possession in-game is 152. Granted, I tend to do what I find fun, which generally leads to low profit margins, but. Lotsa money. ...or, with the gem/gold conversion, I can put it this way: I can get get 3.9025 gold with 100 gems, so 1500 gold for 38,436 gems, which I can get with $490 of real world money. They can be crafted, but even that is super expensive, and requires a lot of farming and dedication.)
I just, er, can't decide which to go with.
The ones I like are these:
The Dreamer -- RAINBOW UNICORN BOW. *makes grabbyhands* Unfortunately it's a short bow, thus only usable by thieves and rangers, and I haven't played thief much and don't play my ranger any more. *sad*
Bolt, except my warrior's purple glowy sword of awesomeness is better. (And cheaper, at around 30 gold.)
Meteorlogicus, which would work for my guardian (80) or my necro (35 but actively played), so is a high possibility
Kudzu, which could replace the rifle on my warrior (80)
The Predator, also a warrior candidate since I don't have an engineer
...so probably, either Meteor or Kudzu.
Though I'm not going to decide for sure until I finish the static two gifts.
Gift of Mastery is easy enough. Have the skill points (more than enough; my guardian has 232, ranger has 101, warrior has 93, and I have 111 scrolls of knowledge), have enough karma for the shards, have enough badges for four gifts of battle. Only not-so-easy thing is the gift of exploration -- guardian has 100% but I can't find the gifts she got, but my warrior is at 80%. (Mostly missing Orr and some WvW stuff. also, apparently, kessex hills, and rata sum, and half of metrica province.) So, doable.
Gift of Fortune ... will take either gold or lots of farming. I have 60 ecto (250 needed for the gift + 231ish for clovers), the other crafting things I'm at 10-40 of 250 (partly because I've been doing some advanced crafting for no apparent reason).
So now.
Gift of Meteorlogicus: Icy runsetones x 100 ('just' a matter of 100 gold) + sup sigil of air (7s) + Gift of Energy (10g + mats, have a lot so mostly need crystalline dust) + Gift of Weather (10g + mats, more ori and charged lodestones and hardened leather, and 500 Crucible of Eternity crystals). And then Storm (444g on trading post or luck)
Or
Gift of Kudzu: Icy runestones + sup sigil of conjuration + gift of wood (10g + mats, which are planks, but trees are easy enough) + gift of nature (10g + mats. ancient wood and omnomberry and hardened leather, and 500 Twilight Arbor tokens). And then Leaf of Kudzu (491g or luck).
*stares at the lists*
*whimpers a little*
I guess if I'm going to do this, my steps are:
* finish exploration on warrior
* make friends with orr
* ... I can't decide whether it's better to salvage rares/exotics for the materials, or to throw them into the toilet for precursor bait, or to sell them on the TP for monies.
* ???
* Profit
Yep. Insane.
