So I get new Futuro wrist support things because the old ones are kind of worn out. Double- and triple-checked that I was ordering the L/XL, because my hands are not small.
They are significantly tighter -- possibly just because they are new? -- which makes them a bit harder to get on but my wrists are very very happy with the support.
On the other hand, they make my thumbs go numb.
After wearing them overnight, my hands are like this:

The red spots are, well, red spots; the grey strip is where it's numb.
(Pictured: a stolen-from-google-search clipart of a hand, with three red pressure spots -- at the thumb-side base of the hand right above the wrist, at the inside webbing between thumb and hand, and close to the index finger knuckle -- and a grey strip along the inside of the thumb from the tip down to the first knuckle.)
Somehow I think this is not good.

Date: 2014-02-08 06:22 am (UTC)Yeah, I definitely find that the first few months of a new pair of braces, I have to be more careful on how I cinch them. Sometimes I barely do them up at all! But the hotspots you point out seem like they could be caused by too-tight straps (especially the topmost ones -- on a new pair I always wind up cinching them so they're barely around the edge of the hand at all.)
