It occurred to me today that in some ways I'm better off having the experience and judgment to go, yeah my whatever is hurting (right now it's my knee, bad enough that I can't really put weight on it, and my wrist/arm, which resents using a mouse or crocheting), and that sucks, but I can find other ways of occupying myself, and I don't have to bug other people with my misery; or I can say, hey, this is what's going on, just so you know...

...but dammit, sometimes I just desperately want to act like a two year old and just howl and cry and sob and generally be inconsolable without explanation or embarrassment.
