My current problem with SWTOR
Jul. 29th, 2014 08:33 pm...is that there's too dang much to do.
Seriously.
BTW I expect this will not make sense to people who don't play SWTOR (or at least don't play MMOs) but it's as much for my own benefit as anything. Feel free to ask for clarifications though, and I can explain.
Anyway.
Of highest importance are these:
* Dailies. For 55 characters, dailies are of the make-money sort; I usually do TBH and Ilum, sometimes Oricon or Czerka on suitably geared characters. Occasionally Makeb. Have three 55s but rarely do all dailies on all three. On my smuggler, there is also the 9 comms from Ord Mantell missions. For sub-55s, dailies are for comms: first flashpoint of the day gives 10 (plus 10 for the weekly), first KDY of the day gives 5, and there are also the PvP dailies for Warzone comms.
* Quad buff. Which means getting either a Consular or an Inquisitor through Chapter 2 of the story. Inquisitor is more likely, since I have a L29 one, whereas my (evil Jedi) consular is only L21, and anyway the inquisitor storyline is better. Then again, inquisitor is only in the middle of Chapter 1; still have Alderaan, Taris, Quesh, Hoth.
* Leveling. I am a completionist, and want to experience the storylines, and so I want one 55 of each class. Current stats: Knight 55, Consular 21, Smuggler 55, Trooper 36, Warrior 22, Inquisitor 29, Bounty Hunter 55, Agent 14.
Note to self: figure out priorities.
Also, I am completely and utterly insane and am leveling a tank, as a tank. Except I don't know how to tank.
Well, I do in a general sense: keep the attention of enemies, make sure heal/dps don't get beaten up. But I am not very good with specifics.
Character is a Sith Assassin.
Relevant skills: Guard (targeted ally takes less damage and generates less threat). Mind Control (targeted enemy is forced to attack). Dark Ward (15-charge shield). Discharge (5 nearby enemies)
Relevant skills that I do not yet have: Force Pull (will get next level). Mass Mind Control (will get next level).
Also relevant skills, distance and/or multitarget: Discharge (10m; hits up to 5 nearby enemies with tank stance). Lacerate (up to 5 nearby targets). Mind Control (30m). Crushing Darkness (10m). Force Lightning (10m, or 30m with Recklessness). Overload (nearby enemies, with knockback). Shock (10m).
So. Obvious is keep Dark Charge on (that's the tank stance), Guard relevant ally (probably a dps), open with either Recklessness + Force Lightning or with Mind Control, beat shit up.
It is a bit annoying that there is apparently no sort of charge/leap skill to jump to enemies. There is Force Speed, I suppose? though that's not an attack, just a move-faster. Bleh.
