ysobel...so my solution to the VS dilemma was to go up against the final boss; if I died, I'd just hang around endgame areas.
I had, in process of combining armors, dumped my working armor in the container (for non-VS WoW/GW people, think bank/xunlai), since equipped armor, annoyingly, counts toward the limit. I've done this several times before, swapping my armor for the to-be-combined armor and then back again.
This time, when I put the combined armors back, I forgot to take my main set out again.
I discovered this as I was fighting the final boss. With weapons, but no armor.
...I won anyway.
