...so my solution to the VS dilemma was to go up against the final boss; if I died, I'd just hang around endgame areas.

I had, in process of combining armors, dumped my working armor in the container (for non-VS WoW/GW people, think bank/xunlai), since equipped armor, annoyingly, counts toward the limit. I've done this several times before, swapping my armor for the to-be-combined armor and then back again.

This time, when I put the combined armors back, I forgot to take my main set out again.

I discovered this as I was fighting the final boss. With weapons, but no armor.

...I won anyway.

So, being on a borrowed computer and therefore lacking access to my usual entertainments, I've been playing VS a lot. (It is an awesome game, and gorgeous, and fun.)

Right now, though, I have a dilemma. I'm on second play, gone everywhere except the final boss fight (99% map completion)... and I can't decide if I want to finish up and start another game, or stay and faff around, and if the latter, what to do.

Issue the first: Chest completion is 96%. Which means I'm missing one chest somewhere. So either I go hunting for the missing one, or I hope to catch it next time around.

Issue the second: I have a nice set of Jazeraint armor, but it's hagane. I'm fairly sure that if I collect up enough damascus leg armor, I can convert it all to damascus, but that requires a fuckton of silver and hagane leg armors.

Issue the third: The weapons I have are not the best of their class, nor are they damascus. But it seems kind of a shame to level up a weapon's stats if I'm going to replace it later.

Issue the fourth: the Iron Maiden B2 low-health trick for getting Awesome Stuff. Right now, because I've cleared the B2 bosses, it's fairly easy to get through B2 (I like being at the B3 end because it's easier to get out. stupid warping identical-looking rooms.) OTOH, that stuff is all fairly rare, and I can probably deal with the boss fights on nextr play-through if I survived them this time.

...This whole thing is a terrible dilemma. (Poor me. *G*)

So while I am more-or-less-computerless, I have been entertaining myself with Vagrant Story. Second play, so decent weapons, decent armor (mostly jazeraint), etc. It's terribly amusing; the bosses will occasionally be lucky enough to do 20 damage to me on a critical strike.

I'd forgotten to go far enough into Iron Maiden B1 to get the Chest Key, so I went down yesterday, but then I lost track of time and was on a boss -- iron golem or somesuch -- when my ride came to pick me up. I didn't have time to get back to a save point, so I just turned the tv off, figuring the boss would kill me and I would start again. Didn't bother turning the PS off, mainly because it's hard for me to do.

Today, I turn it on, and Ashley ... is not dead. Is, in fact, at full health. And the golem is doing a shitload of Granite Punch attacks, all of which are missing.

I can't decide whether to reset (getting play time back down to 10 hrs instead of 32) or just keep going. *snicker*
