Philippe is somehow Disney-smart and incredibly stupid, to be able *and willing* to follow commands like taking Belle to her father, a place he ran from in a panic because wolves and Beast.
...10 points to Gryffindor for pointing out the irrationality of locking Maurice up forever just for a rose -- minus 20 for setting up an ambiguity of hospitality (why did Maurice assume the food was for him?) and then not acting on it (explicitly imprisoned for the rose, not for food). Meh.
Also not sure how I feel about the release being Lumiere's idea rather than the Beast's. We'll see.
(Also they're in fucking France why do some of them have FRENCH ACCRNTS. And the British accents are slightly distracting.)
...and I think imma skip the Gastón pub song ... no I said I'd watch the whole movie. Jumping around can come later.
*cringes at the blatant bribing of people* (it makes perfect sense -- Gastón and LF and the trio of girls are the only five who actually like G -- but this is even more awkward-gay than the animated version. Stopping for now.
