WoW UI addons
Oct. 10th, 2009 10:10 pmSo I'm trying to get my UI to behave nicely; there are things about it that I like, and things that I don't like.
I seem to have divided things into "stuff at top of screen" and "stuff at bottom of screen", with occasional "stuff at sides of screen". Okay, that's not really surprising, but anyway.
The problem is that -- given my setup, and my head/neck position, and other things -- it's easier to see / focus on stuff in the lower half of the screen. And some of the stuff that's currently at the top, like buffs/debuffs and health/mana bars for myself and my group and my target, I can't move. (Or, rather, it's where the default UI
I have bartender for flexibility with, er, bars. So that isn't a problem. Ditto chatter for resizing/moving the chat window. Do any of y'all have good suggestions for addons which a) can reposition buffs and debuffs, preferably with some amount of visual separation between them, or b) can resize and reposition the status bars, preferably as easily configurable for raid situations as for standard groups and solo play, or c) do something nifty I haven't thought of?
(and while I'm at it, any good addons for mages or shamans? both are midlevel (32 and 40) so don't need, like, raiding-useful stuff, but there still might be things...)

Date: 2009-10-11 03:17 pm (UTC)For shamans, I find TotemTimers indispensable -- it's the perfect totem mod, plus it will also track my ankh timer, my weapon buff, and my shield of choice. Could not play without it!

Date: 2009-10-11 06:03 pm (UTC)I realized that I don't actually know what class/spec you raid with, so I don't have specific advice. I used PowerAuras (another one that's hard to set up) for when I needed to see specific buffs and debuffs (pretty rare as the tank, tbh.) Since you can set it up individually for each ability, you can ditch any buffs or debuffs you don't want to see. It can do a lot more than that too, including putting up a big image for procs, if you set it up for that, and a few other things.
